It’s #MusicAppreciationMonday! Ballroom Rumba has origins in Afro Cuban folk dance. It's an Americanized form based on the Cuban "son". In rumba, you hear the clave, which are two small, thick cylinders of wood that are struck together to keep the rhythm. ow.ly/pg3h30nKrBh ... See MoreSee Less

Host a DCP Promenade!

Promenades are free, one-hour events that are hosted at the location of your choice and provide live, in-person “virtual tours” of the Dancing Classrooms Philly program. Promenade guests have the opportunity to experience our work first hand, learn about our in-school and after school programs directly from one of our teaching artists, ask questions, and see a short performance by some of our students.

Promenades are not fundraising events. Rather, they help us expand our network, introduce us to people who might be interested in becoming involved with DCP or in bringing the program to their school, and get the word out about this outstanding program that is changing the lives of children in the Delaware Valley.

For more information on upcoming Promenades, or to host one at your home or business, please contact Jessica Lynch at 215.829.9522 x106 or JessicaL@musicopia.net.

YOUR RECITAL, PERFORMANCE, OR EVENT COULD HELP BRING MORE DANCE TO CHILDREN IN PHILADELPHIA.  Consider designating DCP as the charitable beneficiary of your upcoming event.  Download this flyer for more information.
